How to get "Show My Webcam" back on Live Messenger
Af: code | 2 måneder siden | Kategori: NyhederA really annoying thing with the new Live Messenger is that "Show my webcam" have been removed because Microsoft says that "nobody used it anyway" and that "people thought that it would also output audio". Apparently Microsoft listens to the old grandmas and granddads that have trouble with "MODERN TECHNOLOGIES Z31€£@$". So, serveral hours after annoyances and reinstalls, I finally figured out how to downgrade. I followed this answer from Yahoo: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090211001059AAvpyyZ Aaaaaand... it didn't work for me. I did try another link for the .exe files from the old live messenger and then replaced them with mine. SURE, it worked. Atleast the "show my webcam" popped back up, but first of all it was a GERMAN version and secondly, it didn't send a request for showing webcam. That might simply have been a connection issue at the time (happens sometime). Since I couldn't install that damn old messenger (because it was complaining about me having a new one, even though I'd removed it) I thought of Virtual PC 2007! I booted windows xp, installed the old thing (as I didn't have messenger on it) and then I had the english version of Live Messenger, which I could copy to my Windows 7 Machine, YAY! You can find the old installer here!. Also, the only reason for me posting here is that it wasn't properly answered anywhere else. I hope other people with my problem finds this and make it work. I simply hate that Microsoft removes a feature and only enables people to show webcam WITH audio, NOBODY USES THAT FEATURE #€"%#%€#&"%"/€.
